We present this concert in loving memory of Dr. Don Hecht, a much-loved Founder, and a distinguished Board Member, a veteran of 35 years of dedicated service to our Mozart Classical Orchestra and to the community. Dr. Don Hecht passed in the summer of 2025. We miss him greatly. Our Memorial Concert will comprise some great music and musically sketch some aspects of Dr. Hecht's unique personality. A. The Sensitive: A new orchestration of the unforgettable "Meditation" by Massenet. Touching, emotive, beautiful. B. The Quirky: A concerto for an unusual solo instrument, Concerto for Bassoon, K. 191 by Mozart. C: The Ethnic: An original mix of East European Jewish folk music, arranged, partially composed and fully orchestrated by Maestro Ami Porat exclusively for this concert. D. The Memorial: Haydn's Symphony No. 44, named the "Trauer," the "Mourning" Symphony. Haydn specified the slow movement from this work to be played at his own funeral.
