Our Spring Concert will feature Haydn's great not-performed-often-enough Symphony No. 81, in G major in a brand new edition, prefaced by an array of dances. Not just "any" dances...Instead, new orchestrations for string orchestra of four "Hungarian Dances" by Brahms, originally written by Brahms for piano four hands. The opener is a collection of valses by Austro-Hungarian composer Franz Lehar, the master of writing Operettas, the quasi-equivalent of what is known in the USA as "a Musical." Surely, your spirits will soar and your ears "will thank you..."
