We believe that chamber orchestra music is an integral part of a major art form, enriching and illuminating the human experience. It was to provide the citizens of our community with this art and to make a contribution to classical music in America that we founded the Mozart Classical Orchestra. We believe the needs of the community to be best served by the professional nonprofit resident chamber orchestra. As such, the Mozart Classical Orchestra is dedicated to bringing quality performances of chamber orchestra works from the classical repertoire to the people of Southern California. Since its inaugural season in 1985, the Mozart Classical Orchestra has garnered the highest public praise for its performance standards, for the quality of its guest soloists, and for the intelligence with which its programs are chosen. Under the leadership of its Founding Music Director, Ami Porat, the Mozart Classical Orchestra continues to perform a unique combination of rarely-heard works and mainstays of the orchestral repertoire. The Mozart Classical Orchestra performs at the beautiful Irvine Barclay Theatre.

Concert programs are chosen with care by Maestro Porat to present a balanced sampling of classical works that generally reflect a theme or idea that serves as the basis for an educational as well as an enjoyable concert. All programs are intended to reach the widest audiences, to bring the critically acclaimed playing of the ensemble to as many local residents as possible.

In keeping with Mozart Classical Orchestra's commitment to making its concerts accessible to the public at large, it has kept ticket prices far below the actual cost of each concert. The Mozart Classical Orchestra is committed to maintaining its artistic mission to continue to present live concert performances produced and presented by a professional resident chamber orchestra for the benefit of the local community. The Mozart Classical Orchestra strives to strengthen its artistic mission to encourage greater audience participation in learning to appreciate the enriching and illuminating experience of the music of the great masters presented in the intimate setting unique to a chamber orchestra.
